Whale Watching

whale watchingJust a step away from the bustling city of Vancouver, you will plunge right into a whale-watching journey in Steveston. A panorama of scenic beauty is about to unfold as we transport you through the Fraser River, Gulf Islands, and Strait of Georgia. 95% sighting success. Step into the ocean world of orcas (killer whales) and perhaps humpback or minke whales, dolphins, porpoises, seals or sea lions, eagles, and a variety of seabirds. For a minimum of 3 to 5 hours, be fascinated by various species of marine wildlife waiting to be discovered.

Eco Tours

We offer guided eco tours from April 1st. along the scenic coastline of the Fraser River Estuary. In this magnificent
setting, the Fraser River Estuary offers superb wildlife viewing opportunities of the Steller's and California sea lions amongst numerous other wildlife species. Species thrive undisturbed in their rich, natural habitats.

Let yourself be awe inspired on a 2 hour trip starting just West of the Gulf of Georgia cannery and Steveston’s village itself yield large numbers of dabbling ducks such as widgeon, golden eye, swans merganser and the chance of bitterns, a notoriously hard bird to see. Over 24 species of duck have been seen here.

EcotourWhile admiring the scenic beauty of the rugged coastline of the Strait of Georgia, be transported to the George C. Reifel Migratory Bird Sanctuary situated on Westham Island, just west of the community of Ladner in the Municipality of Delta, British Columbia, Canada. It consists of nearly 300 hectares (850 acres) of managed wetlands, natural marshes and low dikes in the heart of the Fraser River Estuary.

The establishment of the Sanctuary has helped preserve this valuable habitat for millions of birds passing through this part of the Pacific coast during their annual migrations. Our most famous resident has to be the Bald Eagle! There are up to 15 total species of raptor (Birds of prey, including owls which are a popular draw) and some quite rare sightings such as Black-crowned night heron and sandhill crane.

Keep your eyes peeled for sandpipers, red-tailed hawk, peregrine falcon, cormorants, tufted puffins, guillemots, great blue heron, snowgeese, ducks and mallards. An ornithologists dream come true!
